at the top of a hill overlooking the small harbor at Sun Island, this
natural adobe retreat is hard to miss. Made into an ecolodge from
an old hacienda, this property's history goes back to the days of
the Spanish colonization. The 21 rooms are decorated with local made
wood furniture and surrounded by tall trees, gardens, and organic
crops, which are served with the fantastic meals in the dining room.
All the views are great, but rooms 15 and 21 offer a particularly

are a number of hotels to choose from in this area, but we liked Hostal
Copacabana the best. Definitely more like a hotel than hostel, but
with rooms of all types for all budgets. Set in a hollow multi-storied
building of dark wood and Spanish murals, the hostal has several TV
lounge areas, free internet access, and breakfast dining area. The
front desk staff and management are very friendly, gave us information
about the area, and treated us to five comfortable nights. Perfect
