Casa Aurea
Casa Aurea, Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
bed & breakfast

Perched on a hill in the relaxed, bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa, this 125 year old home was once occupied by 26 families (at once!), then by artists, and now by travelers lucky enough to know about it. The artists left their art at the house and multi-lingual host Cornelius transformed the home into Casa Aurea, a warm retreat with quiet living room, lush garden, spacious rooms, open-air kitchen and large patio with hammocks where a fantastic breakfast is served. Thanks to Cornelius for a warm welcome. 80 Rua Aurea 21-2242-5830 $$
