Sayonara
Nihon
Wow.
The last week before we took off was a roller coaster ride of emotions!
Joy, excitement and anticipating the next stage of our life, as well as
deep sadness to be leaving such a great life in a country we had really
come to love. Eventually we'll return to Japan, whether to work or just
visit, but who can blame us for leaving now when the world awaits! Especially
when our first stop is Bali and some 5 star service!
There were
lots of great parties, and great places we have to mention...
Fujimamas
in Harajuku has some of the most fantastic flavours that I've
ever placed in my mouth! Asian fusion at its best. Thanks for a great
meal Tony.
Nobu
in Nishi Azabu. If you know sushi, and you don't know Nobu, then you're
missing out. Not to mention the infamous Kobe beef that melts in your
mouth... Peruvian spices coupled with the amazingly healthy Japanese food
we'll miss so much. This kind of gourmet fare doesn't come cheap, so I
thank my Hirooian clients for treating us! Thanks to Mandy and Randy for
organising such a great night.
Another Mexican
madness night at El Torito in Omotesando for Rebecca's
sayonara party with her English students. How amazing are Japanese friends?
How far do they go out of their way? Bex was amazed by the presents, flowers,
sentiments and gratitude showed by her students. You hardly ever see Japanese
people get very emotional, so if you get a hug or a kiss, you know you've
done well. Tears were certainly flowing when it came time to say goodbye.
The after party was at Volver in Azabu Juban. A cool
private room hid behind a fake brick wall. There were lots of sunburnt
looking faces that night! If you're unaware, when the Japanese drink,
their faces go quite red. Thanks to Maki-chan, party organizer and girl
who never sleeps!
Another
all night dance-athon at Tokyo's biggest and most insane nightclub, Ageha
in Shin-Kiba to see UK DJ John Digweed in action. Thanks to our great
clubbing mates Don and Tami for free tickets to the last Dimension-K theme
night there. Don Patrick is an awesome DJ from Ireland
who played his firing set there last time and who has a website where
you can download several sets for free. Check him out.
Finally our
last party on Sunday night at Las Chicas D-Zone bar in
Omotesando. Around 40-50 of our best mates, clients and people that have
made our life in Tokyo what it has been. I haven't shed in tear in I don't
know how many years, but I must admit I couldn't hold it back! Only a
couple though he he...
Our housemates
got up early the next morning to see us off, and we headed to the airport
with full hearts and puffy eyes. See you later Japan, thank you Japan,
we love you Japan...
Arigatou
and Sayonara Japan! We'll be back!
