VIETNAM HOME
VIETNAM is one of the three countries that make up Indochina in Southeast ASIA. Though mostly known to the Western world for its war that was mortalized in decades of films, Vietnam is now increasingly becoming known for its stunning beauty and tourist delights. The long, thin country's impressive landscape is made up of mountain highlands, rice paddy fields, pretty beaches along 3000 kilometres of coast line, and a maze of waterways where the great Mekong River empties into the South China Sea.

Seventy-seven percent of Vietnam's 83 million people live in the countryside, and ten percent belong to various ethnic minority groups. Run by the capital of Hanoi in the north, Vietnam is one of the world's last one-party communist states, though it's socialist market economy encourages private and international commerce.

The official language is Vietnamese, the currency used is the dong and the phone country code is 84.
